Lonavala or Lonavla is a town and a beauty full hill station in Pune district of Maharashtra. It is located at about 64 KM from the city of Pune and 96 KM from the city of Mumbai. It is known for its production of the hard candy “Chikky” and is also a major stop on the railway line connecting Mumbai and Pune. Lonavla and the adjacent Khandala are two hill stations 622 Meters (2,041 ft) above from the sea level, in the Sahyadri ranges that demarcate the Deccan Plateau and the Konkan coast. A trip to Lonavla and Khandala can be combined with sight-seeing visits of Karla, Bhaja and Bedsa caves and also the two fortresses, Lohagad and Visapur. Matheran it is a smallest hill station of India, located at Karjat Tahsilin in the Raigad district of Maharashtra. It is located on the Western Ghats range at an elevation of around 800 Meters (2,625 ft) above from the sea level. It is about 100 km from Mumbai and 120 KM from Pune. Matheran's proximity too many metropolitan cities makes it a popular weekend getaway for urban residents. Mahabaleshwar is a hill station in the state of Maharashtra, India, it lies at an altitude of 1373 Meters above from the sea level, in the Sahyadri Ranges. It features several elevated viewing points, such as Arthur’s Seat. West of here is centuries-old Pratapgad Fort, perched atop a mountain spur. East, Lingmala Waterfall tumbles off a sheer cliff. Ellora in Maharashtra, India, is one of the largest rock-cut monastery-temple cave complexes in the world, and it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, featuring Buddhist, Hindu and Jain monuments. There are over 100 caves at the site, all excavated from the basalt cliffs in the Charanandri Hills, 34 of which are open to public. All of the Ellora monuments were built during Hindu dynasties such as the Rashtrakuta dynasty, which constructed part of the Hindu & Buddhist caves, and the Yadava dynasty, which constructed a number of the Jain caves. After the sightseeing of Ellora caves visit some other historical monuments of Ellora like Daulatabad Fort and Bibi Ka Maqbara.

Ajanta Caves are about 29 rock-cut Buddhist cave monuments which are in Aurangabad district of Maharashtra state. According to UNESCO, these are masterpieces of Buddhist religious art that influenced Indian art that followed. The site is a protected monument in the care of the Archaeological Survey of India, and since 1983, the Ajanta Caves have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Nagpur is a 3rd largest city of the central Indian state of Maharashtra. Deekshabhoomi, the largest hollow Stupa or the largest dome shaped monument and an important place of the Buddhist movement in Nagpur. The city is also famous for Nagpur oranges and is sometimes known as the Orange City for being a major trade center of oranges cultivated in the region. 

Tadoba National Park is a tiger reserve in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra state in India. It is notable as Maharashtra's oldest and largest national park. Nagzira wildlife sanctuary is located between Bhandara district and Gondia district of Maharashtra at Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary is locked in the arms of nature and adorned with a picturesque landscape, luxuriant vegetation and serves as a living outdoor museum to explore and appreciate nature. This sanctuary has a number of fish, 34 species of mammals, 166 species of birds, 36 species of reptiles and four species of amphibians. Pune is the second largest city in the Maharashtra state after Mumbai, situated at 560 Meters (1,837 ft.) above from the sea level on the Deccan plateau on the right bank of the Mutha River. The history of the Pune city is closely related to the rise of the Maratha Empire of the 17th and 18th centuries. Pune city is known for its grand Aga Khan Palace, which was built in 1892 and now a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, whose ashes are preserved in the garden. The 8th century Pataleshwar Cave Hindu Temple is dedicated to the Lord Shiva.

Bhimashankar is an ancient shrine and one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Shiva, located 50 KM northwest of Khed (Alias Rajguru Nagar), near Pune, Maharashtra, in the Ghat region of the Sahyadri Hills. Bhimashankar is also the source of the River Bhima, which flows southeast and merges with the Krishna River near Raichur. 

Trimbakeshwar Temple or Tryambakeshwar it is located 28 KM from the city of Nashik and 40 KM from Nashik Road. It is an ancient Hindu temple in the town of Trimbak, in the Trimbakeshwar Tehsil in the Nashik district of Maharashtra. It is dedicated to the God Shiva and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. The temple is located between three hills namely Brahmagiri, Nilagiri and Kalagiri. Trimbakeshwar is a religious center having one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. The extraordinary feature of the Jyotirlinga located here is its three faces embodying Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Rudra. 

Grishneshwar Temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga shrines, this pilgrimage site of Maharashtra is located in Ellora (Also called Verul), less than a KM from Ellora Caves – A UNESCO World Heritage site. It is approximate 30 KM north-west of the city of Aurangabad and about 300 KM east-northeast from Mumbai. The Grishneshwar temple is an illustration of south Indian temple architectural style and structure, temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. 

Nashik or Nasik is an ancient holy city, located in the northwest region of Maharashtra, India. The city is known for its links to the “Ramayana” epic poem. Shri Kalaram Sansthan Mandir is an ancient shrine to Rama, while Rama and Sita are said to have worshipped at Sita Gufaa caves. Nashik hosts one of the largest religious gatherings in the world known as Maha Kumbh. Ganpatipule is approximately 375 Km south of Mumbai, along the Konkan Coast. It is located in district Ratnagiri of Maharashtra state.
