ABOUT DESTINATIONS

Kochi (also known as Cochin) is a city in southwest India's coastal Kerala state. Kochi also known as the Queen of the Arabian Sea” was an important spice trading centre on the west coast of India from the 14th century onward. It has been a port since 1341, when a flood carved out its harbor and opened it to Arab, Chinese and European merchants. Sites reflecting those influences include Fort Kochi, a settlement with tiled colonial bungalows and diverse houses of worship. Cantilevered Chinese fishing nets, typical of Kochi, have been in use for centuries.

Munnar is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams – Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala at height of 1,600 Meters above from sea level. Munnar is a town in the Western Ghats mountain range in Idukki district of Kerala state. A hill station and former resort for the British Raj elite, it's surrounded by rolling hills dotted with tea plantations established in the late 19th century. Eravikulam National Park, a habitat for the endangered mountain goat Nilgiri tahr, is home to the Lakkam Waterfalls, hiking trails and 2,695m-tall Anamudi Peak.

Thekkady is the location of the Periyar National Park, which is an important tourist attraction in the Kerala state of India. It is home to herds of Elephants, Sambar, Tigers, Gaur, Lion-Tailed macaques and Nilgiri Langurs. Thekkady is also considered as a heaven for natural spices such as black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, nut mace, ginger and clove.

Alleppey/Alappuzha – It’s known as the 'Venice of the East' for its similarity to the Italian city. It is a city on the Laccadive Sea in the southern Indian state of Kerala. It's best known for houseboat cruises along the rustic Kerala backwaters, a network of tranquil canals and lagoons. Alappuzha Beach is the site of the 19th-century Alappuzha Lighthouse. The city's Mullakkal Temple features a traditional design. Punnamada Lake's snake boat races are a well known annual event.

Kanyakumari also known as Kanniyakumari, formerly known as Cape Comorin, is a town in Kanyakumari District in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. The name comes from the Devi Kanya Kumari Temple in the region. It is the southernmost tip of peninsular India. Kanyakumari town is the southern tip of the Cardamom Hills, an extension of the Western Ghats range. The nearest town is Nagercoil, the administrative headquarters of Kanyakumari District, 22 km (14 mi) away. Kanyakumari has been a town since Sangam period and is a popular tourist destination. Though there are several places of tourist interest in the town and district, Kanyakumari is especially popular in India for its spectacular and unique sunrise and sunset, thanks to its being nearly surrounded by waters. On balmy, full-moon evenings (locally called Chitra Pournami), one can also see the moon-rise and sunset at the same time.

Kovalam is a small coastal town in the southern Indian state of Kerala, south of Thiruvananthapuram. At the southern end of Lighthouse Beach is a striped lighthouse with a viewing platform. Palm-backed beaches also include Hawa Beach and Samudra Beach. Heading south, Vizhinjam Juma Masjid mosque overlooks the busy fishing harbor. Inland, Sagarika Marine Research Aquarium displays technology used in pearl production.

Thiruvananthapuram formerly known as Trivandrum is the capital and the largest city of the Indian state of Kerala. It is located on the west coast of India near the extreme south of the mainland. Referred to by Mahatma Gandhi as the "Evergreen city of India". Thiruvananthapuram is a major tourist hub in South India. Kovalam and Varkala are popular beach towns located near the city. The Padmanabhaswamy Temple circled by the East Fort is believed to be among the richest and grandest temples in the world. Other places of interest include Shanghumukham, Azhimala Beach, Agasthyamala rain forests, Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary, Kallar, Braemore, Ponmudi Hills, Poovar and Anchuthengu backwaters, Varkala Cliffs and Kappil, Edava Lakes. The city is also known for its unique style of architecture involving Kerala Architecture with British and Dravidian influences in Napier museum, Zoo which is one of the oldest in Asia, Kuthiramalika and Kilimanoor Palaces. Although there are a number of museums, Kerala Science and Technology Museum includes the Priyadarsini Planetarium with the biggest projection screen in south India.

Day 01: Arrive at Cochin + Half Day Cochin Local Sightseeing Tour

On arrival at Cochin, pick up from Cochin Airport/Railway station and transfer to hotel, check in to hotel. Cochin (also known as Kochi) is a city in southwest India's coastal Kerala state. Kochi also known as the Queen of the Arabian Sea was an important spice trading centre on the west coast of India from the 14th century onward. After refresh, proceed for local sightseeing tour of Kochi/Cochin city and visit to Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, Fort Kochi beach, St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Cathedral, Chinese Fishing Net, Bolgatty Island, Bolghatty Palace, Willington Island, Marine Drive and Broadway. Later come back to hotel and overnight stay at Cochin hotel.

Day 02: Cochin – Munnar (130 Km) Travel time 3/4 hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from Cochin hotel and drive to Munnar en route visiting Tea Estates, Spice Plantation, Cheeyapara Water Fall, Valara Falls and Karadippara View Point. Day 03: Munnar Local Sightseeing Tour

After breakfast, proceed for full day sightseeing tour of Munnar town and visit to Rose Garden, Mattupetty Lake & Dam, Eco Point, Kundala Dam, Munnar Tea Museum, Anamudi Peak. Later back to Munnar and visit to Eravikulam National Park at Rajamalai – Eravikulam National Park is a 97 km national park located along the Western Ghats in the Idukki district of Kerala in India. Here you can watch the rare specious of Nilgiri Thar and an exotic flora & fauna. Evening explore local market of Munnar and overnight stay at Munnar hotel.

Day 04: Munnar – Thekkady Sightseeing Tour (120 km) Travel time 3/4 hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from Munnar hotel and drive to Thekkady. On arrival, check in to hotel. Thekkady is the location of the Periyar National Park, which is an important tourist attraction in the Kerala state of India. It is home to herds of Elephants, Sambar, Tigers, Gaur, Lion-Tailed macaques and Nilgiri Langurs. After refresh, proceed for sightseeing tour of Thekkady and visit to The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is spread across 777 km, of which 360 km is thick evergreen forest. The wildlife sanctuary was declared a tiger reserve in 1978. The splendid artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar Dam across the Periyar River adds to the charm of the park. The greatest attractions of Periyar are the herds of wild elephants, deer and bison that come down to drink in the lake. You can also enjoy Boat Cruises on Periyar Lake and Elephant Ride, also visit plantation of cardamom, black pepper, tea and coffee. Day 05: Thekkady – Alleppey/Alappuzha (160 Km) Travel time 4/5 hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from Thekkady hotel and drive to Alleppey/Alappuzha. Alleppey/Alappuzha – It’s known as the 'Venice of the East' for its similarity to the Italian city. It is a city on the Laccadive Sea in the southern Indian state of Kerala. It's best known for houseboat cruises along the rustic Kerala backwaters, a network of tranquil canals and lagoons. Day 06: Alleppey/Alappuzha – Kanyakumari Sightseeing Tour  (290 Km) Travel time 6/7 hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from Alleppey hotel and drive to Kanyakumari. Kanyakumari – Is a coastal town in the state of Tamil Nadu on India's southern tip. Jutting into the Laccadive Sea, the town was known as Cape Comorin during British rule and is popular tourist destination for watching sunrise and sunset over the ocean. On arrival at Kanyakumari, check in to hotel. After refresh Kanyakumari sightseeing tour and visit to Gandhi Memorial Mandapam – This Memorial has been built on the spot where the urn containing the Mahatma's ashes was kept for public viewing before immersion. Vivekanand Rock Memorial – The Vivekananda Rock Memorial is a popular tourist monument in Vavathurai, Kanyakumari, India. The memorial stands on one of two rocks located about 500 meters east of the mainland of Vavathurai. Devi Kanya Kumari Temple – Kanyakumari Temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peeth. Kanyakumari Devi Temple is situated in Tamil Nadu. Kanyakumari is a cape at the southernmost tip of the Indian peninsula. Evening you will get to see the Sunset at the confluence of 3 Oceans, Arabian Sea, Pacific Ocean & Indian Ocean. Later return back to hotel and overnight stay at Kanyakumari hotel.

Day 07: Kanyakumari – Kovalam (90 Km) Travel time 2/3 hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from Kanyakumari hotel and drive to Kovalam. On arrival at Kovalam, check in to hotel. Day 08: Kovalam Local Sightseeing Tour 

After breakfast enjoy resort service as Ayurveda treatment, later proceed for sightseeing tour of Kovalam and visiting The Light House – The southernmost beach, the Lighthouse Beach is the one most frequented by tourists, Lighthouse Beach got its name due to the old Vizhinjam Lighthouse located on a 35 meter high on top of the Kurumkal hillock. Karamana River & Boating – Karamana River originates from the southern part of Sahyadri Range. Vellayani Lake – Is 7 Km from Kovalam and boat facility is also available from Kovalam. The Vellayani Durga temple is also near to this lake. Kovalam Art Gallery – This gallery displays best collection of artifacts, paintings and art works. Thiruvallam Parasurama Temple – It is believed that the temple is around 2000 years old Hindu temple, situated at the banks of Karamana River. Aruvikkara Dam – This Dam is around 10 Km from Kovalam and a beautiful picnic spot on the shores of Karamana River. Valiyathura Pier – This place offer nice view of the setting sun and see. Later come back to hotel, dinner and overnight stay at Kovalam hotel.

Day 09: Kovalam – Departure Trivandrum Airport/ Railway Station (16 Km – 20 Minutes drive)

After breakfast check out from Kovalam hotel and drive to Trivandrum Airport/Railway station to board the flight/train for further journey back to home.
