Nagaland tourist information:

Kohima – Is the hilly capital of India's north eastern border state of Nagaland which shares its borders with Burma. It is the second largest city in the state. It officially became the capital after the state of Nagaland was inaugurated in 1963. Kohima is the land of the Angami Naga tribe. It is situated in the foothills of Japfu range located south of Kohima District and has an average elevation of 1261 Meters (4137 feet). The week-long Hornbill Festival is held at Kisama Heritage Village, which is about 12 km from Kohima, the capital of Nagaland. All the tribes of Nagaland take part in this festival. The aim of the festival is to revive and protect the rich culture of Nagaland and display its traditions.

Manipur tourism information:

Imphal – The city of Imphal is the capital of the Indian state of Manipur. Ruins of the Palace of Kangla, the royal seat of the erstwhile Kingdom of Manipur, are in the city centre, surrounded by a moat. Imphal is located at in extreme eastern India with an average elevation of 786 Meters (2,579 ft). It is the second largest busiest city in North-east India after Guwahati and Agartala. Kangla Fort is on the banks of the Imphal River, and is also known as the Palace of Kangla. Kangla means "Dry Land" in the Meitei language. The fort was the palace of King Pakhangba and also has religious significance. In the fort are a number of temples, and it is surrounded on three sides by a lake.

Day 01: Arrival at Guwahati

On arrival at Guwahati, pick up from Guwahati Airport/Railway station and transfer to hotel. After refresh visit to Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra – Srimanta Sankaradev Kalakshetra commonly Kalakshetra is a cultural institution in the Panjabari area of Guwahati, Assam. Kalakshetra has been envisioned as a centre, an institution for the grand exposition of all aspects of Assamese life and culture. Kamakhya Temple – The Kamakhya Temple also Kamrup-Kamakhya is a Hindu temple dedicated to the mother goddess Kamakhya. It is one of the oldest of the 51 Shakti Pithas. Later enjoy River Cruise over the River Brahmaputra. Come back to hotel and overnight stay at Guwahati hotel.

Day 02: Guwahati – Shillong (130 Km) Travel time 3/4 hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from Guwahati hotel and drive to Shillong – Shillong is the capital city and hill station of Meghalaya, also known as "The Abode of Clouds", one of the smallest states in India. It is the headquarters of the East Khasi Hills district and is situated at an average altitude of 4,908 feet (1,496 meters) above sea level, with the highest point being Shillong Peak at 6,449 feet (1,966 meters). En route visiting Umium Lake (Commonly known as Barapani Lake) is a reservoir located in the hills 15 km to the North of Shillong in the state of Meghalaya, India. It was created by damming the Umiam river in the early 1960s. The principal catchment area of the lake and dam is spread over 220 square km. On arrival at Shillong, check in to hotel. Later free for independent activities and overnight stay at Shillong hotel.

Day 03: Shillong – Cherrapunjee – Shillong (60 Km) Travel time 2 hours (Approx)

After breakfast drive to Cherrapunjee and visit to Nohkalikai Falls – Is naturally the top destination in Cherrapunji. The breathtaking water falls is the tallest plunge waterfall in the country falling from a height of 1115 feet. Mawsmai Cave – One of the best caves in Meghalaya and Cherrapunjee is a major tourist attraction. Dainthlen Falls – Is located near Cherrapunjee is one of the most popular waterfalls. The mesmerizing Dain Thlen Falls at Sohra is important tourist place. Nohsngithiang Falls – Is the 4th highest waterfalls in the country. It falls down from 1035 feet height. As seven streams flow down the plateau, the falls is called Seven Sister Falls. Later return back to Shillong en route visiting Shillong Peak – Shillong Peak offers spectacular views of the city from an impressive height of 1966 meters above the sea level. Also visit Elephant Falls – Elephant Falls in the outskirts of Shillong is an important tourist attraction, located in Upper Shillong area. Elephant Falls is among most popular tourist sites of the city and surrounded with green vegetation. Evening free for independent activities or explore local market of Shillong and overnight stay at Shillong hotel.

Day 04: Shillong – Tezpur/Bhalukpong (350 Km) Travel time 7/8 hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Bhalukpong. Evening arrive at Tezpur/Bhalukpong, on arrival check in to hotel and overnight stay at Tezpur either Bhalukpong hotel.

Day 05: Tezpur/Bhalukpong – Dirang (185 Km) Travel duration 6 ½ hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Dirang en route visiting Tipi Orchid Centre – The centre is located at Tipi in West Kameng District of Arunachal Pradesh towards Bomdila (The District Headquarter of West Kameng). It is situated on the west bank of Kameng river (also known as Jia Bharoli in Assam) surrounded by high hills covered with semi ever green tropical rain forest vegetation. It stretches over an area of 10 hectares of flat land comprising of office buildings, Orchidaria, Tissue culture lab, Museum, Herbarium and Gardens. On arrival at Dirang, check in to hotel. Later visit the regional Apple Nursery, Kiwi Farm, Dzong (Fort), Hot Water Spring and overnight stay at Dirang hotel.

Day 06: Dirang Local Tour – Tawang (141 Km) Travel time 6 hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from hotel, before leaving Dirang, proceed for local sightseeing of Dirang and visit to Yak Breeding Centre, The Lower Monastery, Hot Spring, Nag Mandir and The War Memorial. Later drive to Tawang en route visiting Sella Lake and snowcapped Shella Pass at the high altitude of 13746 Ft. and also visit Jaswantgarh – Jaswantgarh is located 16 KM from Sella Pass, it is a memorial to the brave soldiers. The exemplary bravery shown by Jaswant Rawat was honored by building a memorial at the post where he fought the Chinese army during the 1962 war. Evening arrive at Tawang, check in to hotel. Later explore Tawang village and overnight stay at Tawang hotel. 

Day 07: Tawang Local Sightseeing Tour

After breakfast, proceed for local sightseeing tour of Tawang – Tawang is a beautiful town situated at an elevation of approximately 3,048 meters in the northwestern part of Arunachal Pradesh in India. Explore Tawang Monastery – It is one of the largest lamaseries of Mahayana sects and the second oldest monastery in the world after Lhasa. The monastery houses over 500 monks. Nuaranang falls – The 100m high Nuranang falls in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh is one of the most spectacular waterfalls and it is located at 2 Km away from the town. P.T. Tso Lake – It is located 20 Km from Tawang the town at high altitude of 12,000 feet in the Eastern Himalayas. P.T. Tso Lake is a beautiful lake in Arunchal Pradesh. This lake holds spiritual importance in the Buddhist community. During winter, the lake provides an ideal spot for skiing. Tawang War Memorial – The Tawang War Memorial, a pride of Tawang, is a 40 feet high memorial dedicated to the martyrs of the 1962 Indo – China war. This memorial, locally referred to as the ‘Namgyal Chortan’ has names of 2420 dead soldiers etched in gold on 32 black granite plaques. Evening explore local shopping place of Tawang and overnight stay at Tawang hotel.

Day 08: Tawang – Bomdila (181 Km) Travel duration 7 hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Bomdila. Bomdila is located at high altitude of 8500 ft from see level and is the headquarters of West Kameng district in the state of Arunachal Pradesh in India. With snow clad Himalayan mountain ranges and lush greenery to flaunt its natural beauty and various crafts to boast of its rich culture and lifestyle. Evening arrive at Bomdila, check in to hotel and free for your own activities and overnight stay at Bomdila hotel.

Day 09: Bomdila – Kaziranga (270 Km) Travel time 7/8 hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from Bomdila hotel and drive to Kaziranga. On arrival at Kaziranga, check in to hotel. Later free for independent activities and overnight stay at Kaziranga hotel.

Day 10: Kaziranga National Park

Early morning at 5.00AM proceed for Elephant ride and visit to Kaziranga National Park and explore Eastern Zone of Kaziranga National Park on back of elephant. Apart from the Rhino, other species found are Hog Deer, Swamp Deer, Wild Buffalo and Elephants, if you are lucky then you can also see the Tiger. It is also home to pelicans, storks and darters as there are a number of water bodies inside the Park. Later return to hotel for breakfast. Afternoon get ready for Jeep Safari through the Central Zone of the National Park. Later return to the hotel, free for independent activities and overnight stay at Kaziranga hotel.

Day 11: Kaziranga – Kohima (250 Km) Travel time 6 hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Kohima – Kohima is the hilly capital of India's north eastern border state of Nagaland which shares its borders with Burma. On arrival at Kohima, check in to hotel and overnight stay at Kohima hotel.

Day 12: Kohima Sightseeing Tour

After breakfast proceed for full day sightseeing tour of Kohima and visit to War Cemetery – The War Cemetery in Kohima is a memorial dedicated to soldiers of the 2nd British Division of the Allied Forces who died in the Second World War at Kohima, the capital of Nagaland, India, in April 1944. The cemetery is well kept with lush green, mowed lawns and well groomed flowers.  Nagaland State Museum – Kohima State Museum is located at 1.5 KM away from Kohima. The Kohima Museum portrays the traditions and culture of the 16 tribes of the state. The museum holds many unique artifacts related to different tribes of the region. One of the major attractions of this museum is the collection of rare artifacts of all the 16 tribes that inhabit the state. Some of the artefacts exhibited in this museum are clan motifs, precious stones, necklaces, traditional attires and inscriptions. Kohima Heritage VillageThis village is situated around 12 KM from Kohima, the offers a panorama of natures, cheerful and hospitality of people. The Heritage Village is designed in the form of an ancient Naga village to give an authentic feel of a true Naga village. The Catholic Cathedral – Catholic Church is considered as one of the biggest churches in the north-east region of India and is one of its kinds in the entire Kohima. Its splendid architecture makes it to one of the important tourist spot of Kohima.

Day 13: Kohima – Imphal (150 Km) Travel duration 5/6 hours (Approx)

After breakfast check out from Kohima hotel and drive to Imphal with the mesmerizing view of breathtaking mountain. Imphal is a capital of Manipur, is a scenic city. It is located at the center of the beautiful Manipur valley and is surrounded by plains and hills. Dense forests and sprawling grasslands make the place a heaven on earth. On arrival at Imphal, check in to hotel. Later free for your own activities and overnight stay at Imphal hotel.

Day 14: Imphal Sightseeing Tour

After breakfast start for full day sightseeing tour of Imphal and visit to Loktak Lake – Loktak Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Northeast India and is famous for the phumdis floating over it. This ancient lake plays an important role in the economy of Manipur. It serves as a source of water for hydropower generation, irrigation and drinking water supply. Manipur Zoological Garden – Manipur Zoological Garden was established on 2nd October 1976. The Zoo is situated about 7 km away from the state capital, Imphal on Imphal-Kanchup Road at the foot of the pine growing hillocks. Manipur Zoo is home to a number of rare and endangered species. Khonghampat Orchidarium – It is located at 10 Km from Imphal on the National Highway No. 39. Khonghampat Orchidarium is maintained by the Forest Department. The Orchidarium is one of the most popular attractions in Imphal. It spreads to around 200 acres of land with more than 120 varieties of exotic species of orchids. The best time to visit the Orchaidarium is April and May. Shri Govindajee Temple – The Govindajee temple is one of the most attractive sights for the tourists. Shree Govindajee Temple is the largest Hindu, Vaishnav temple in Imphal city in Manipur. It is located next to the palace of the former rulers of the then Manipur Kingdom. The temple is simple in design with two gold plated domes, a paved court and a large, raised mantapa or congregation hall. Khwairamband Bazaar – Khwairaman Bazaar is the main market of Imphal. The main feature of this market is that all its shops are owned and operated by women. It is splited into two sections on either side of a road. Vegetables, fruits, fishes and household groceries are sold on one side and exquisite handlooms and household tools on the other. Manipur State Museum – Is one such tourist destination of Imphal, which no one should miss. This interesting Museum near the Polo Ground has a fairly good collection and display of Manipur's tribal heritage and a collection of portraits of Manipur's former rulers. Shahid Minar – It is located in Bir Tikendrajit Park in the heart of Imphal city. The Shahid Minar was erected in memory of Yubaraj Bir Tikendrajit and General Thangal who were hung in public by British at this site in 1891. Later free for independent activities and overnight stay at Imphal hotel.

Day 15: Imphal Airport Departure

After breakfast check out from hotel and transfer to Imphal Airport to board the flight for onward journey to home.
